Chinaโ€™s geopolitical rise has coincided with a world increasingly divided by great-power rivalry, the breakdown of international law, economic fragmentation, and eroded trust in multilateral institutions. Can Chinaโ€™s balancing actsโ€”through neutral mediation, development-focused partnerships, and tech diplomacyโ€”offer stability where Western approaches have struggled?

These are the very questions that will be explored in Panel 2 of GIFTโ€™s Geopolitics & Conflicts: Is Chinaโ€™s Balancing Act a Global Good? conference. The panel will assess whether Chinaโ€™s pragmatic approach to global affairs can help stabilise a fractured world.
